Is SCUBA for You?

SCUBA is for people who want to live an adventurous lifestyle and experience the freedom of life underwater. It is for those who seek simplicity and want to experience a closeness with nature. For those who are more technically oriented, SCUBA offers a myriad of technical gadgets and advanced training.  SCUBA is a wonderful couple and family sport and is a great way for singles to meet new buddies.

To be a scuba diver, you need to be comfortable in the water and be able to swim. You don’t need to be a strong swimmer, but being in the water should not cause you stress. The age for diving today ranges from 10 years old to senior adults. Under water, age is hardly an issue. Being in basic good health is the only other requirement.

Apple IPad

iPadAs all of you know, Apple develops pretty good products.    I am one of those who purchased the iPad.   Thankfully I did some planning and pre-ordered the 64GB version.   I did receive it on the highly anticipated day of April 3rd.     I purchased the iPad for a few reasons.   One of those reasons is geared toward SCUBA.   It is just a matter of time before some great SCUBA related applications are available.

Apple make an adapter that will be released later in April.   This adapter plugs right into the typical Apple connector and it will allow me to plug in my SD Card or even a USB cable connected to my Camera.   The cool thing about this is I can import all of my underwater photos.   I no longer need to drag my laptop with me to offload the photos.   With the iPad my wife and I will still have the ability to write  our SCUBA reviews.   This new device will even give us the ability to update our blog while on the go.  Thanks for reading.

Dominica in our sights

Dominica

Our next dive vacation is on the horizon.   In just a few months we will be traveling to the small Caribbean of Dominica where we will be meeting up several of our Prairie Diver Friends.

Dominica  is  located between the French islands of Guadeloupe and Martinique in the Eastern Caribbean, at approximately 15 degrees North latitude and 61 degrees West longitude.

Dominica is in the Lesser Antilles, a part of the Eastern Caribbean approximately  halfway between Guadeloupe to the north and Martinique to the south.

We will be staying at the Castle Comfort Dive Lodge.   We do plan on writing a full review and placing it on our web site.
