Dry Suits
Ever wanted to experience the pristine wrecks of the great lakes? How about the underwater cave systems of the Midwest or Florida? Are the icebergs of Alaska bringing out the true adventurer in you? Or are you just fascinated with cold water diving.
If you're itching to get to any one of these dive destinations, you better start seriously considering the purchase of a dry suit.
Drysuits are great for the very very cold destinations, but they're also becoming increasingly popular in more temperate areas. Even in the tropics, where prolonged diving occurs at temperatures less than core body temperature, one may become hypothermic. If you're a photographer or marine biologist who tends to stay still for long periods of time, you may want to consider the drysuit even in the warmer temperatures. Also, repetitive dives will gradually decrease your body temperature, making your dives progressively uncomfortable. If you're one of those people that is chronically cold blooded wherever you may go, the drysuit may be for you.
